Pointe de Bellevue (2041m) offers an outstanding view of the Dents du Midi, the east coast of the Geneva Lake and the beginning of the Rhône valley (no pictures this time). During winter, it's an easy ski-hike and a relaxing descent in powder...

Becca de Lovegno (CH), 3 January 2009
2 January 2009, Ewa, Charlotte and me, go back do Mase to visit Valerie and Yannick. The next day we plan to get the summit of Becca de Lovegno on skis. For Charlotte it will be the first high-mountain ascent.
We start in the forest with the sunrise. There are no sun rays as they are blocked by a high mountain ridge.
Bloody cold, about minus 10 degrees. No sun, freezing fingers. A cup of hot tea cheers us up.
There is still no sun. We trace the path in deep snow.
2.5h of climbing. The sun still remains blocked by the ridge of Pte de Masserey (2841).

We finally get warm sun rays.

From this moment, we continue the walk in the warming sun.

Marta and Kangur, Olsztyn (PL), September 2008
In the beginning of September, we went to Olsztyn to celebrate the wedding of Kangur and Marta, Ewa’s friend from the student times. Olsztyn is a medieval city in Mazury. The latter is the region in the northeastern Poland famous of its numerous lakes and wild forests. This is the place where one can still encounter a bison in wild. The Masurian Lake District is known as the “land of a thousand of lakes”.
The wedding party usually takes two days. The second day is to continue having fun and to spend time together mentioning the yesterday evening. One can heal a hangover by drinking beer…
We spent the second day in a summer house in a small village next to Olsztyn. The house with a tiny marina was located right next to a lake. The guests spent a sunny day taking refreshing baths in the lake…
